Mathematics of the Ancient Egyptians The Architectonic Family of Numbers Dr. Hossam Aboulfotouh, 26 August, 2004 Background: The architects of the ancient Egypt were excellent mathematicians; they are the architectonicians. They understood the numeric system of the cosmos; and thus, their idea about numbers was not limited to finding the exact solution of a mathematical problem. Among the array of possible numeric representations of the solution for such mathematical problem, only one form that is both architectonic and economic in nature, i.e., it has a perfect architectural representation in the cosmic enclosure and denotes the maximum economic utility. Their strong cosmic knowledge enabled them to establish the architectonic family of numbers. It is quite different from the other families that are known by the modern mathematicians: odd and even families or perfect and imperfect families. The numbers 1, 3, & 5 are of the odd family and the numbers 2,4, & 6 are of the even family. Similarly, the numbers 6, 28, &117 are of the perfect family and the numbers 5, 17, & 116 are of the imperfect family. Besides, there are also the series' families: like 2, 4, 8,16, etc. or 3, 9, 27, 81, etc. As well as the golden series like 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 11, etc., or the harmonic series like 1, 8/9, 64/81, 3/4, 2/3, etc. In addition to the exponential series of such base number like: 22, 24, 28, etc., or 23, 29, 227, etc. While, the numbers 14, 15, 16, 18, 21, 20, 24,…, 10000, etc., are of the architectonic family that includes numbers from all of the other families according to a specific law that we will publish it shortly. The numbers of either odd or even families represent the basic systems and are the raw material of God for constructing the cosmic systems of perfect and imperfect numbers in the cosmic enclosure. The architectonic numbers, on the other hand, are the raw materials of man for constructing his architectural enclosures on earth. The architectonic family was the numeric scaling system of the ancient Egyptian architects and that was called the "Geed scaling system." What is called the Rhind mathematical papyrus, that was written by Ahmos about 1500 BC, contains the table of the fractions of numbers, which is based on the architectonic family of numbers. Today's mathematicians call it the 2/n table, as the one at Noisefactory web site; it shows the decompositions of the fractions of the odd numbers, like 2/3, 2/5, 2/7, 2/9, 2/11, etc, into the fractions of the architectonic family. During the last 100 years, as shown in Milo Gardner researches, mathematicians tried hardly to identify one decomposition method for the whole table without success. They could not break its unified code. The reason is they have not thought about the architectonic family of numbers that was established by the architectonicians of the ancient Egypt. In today's mathematics, writing 2/5=1/5+1/5 means nothing from the architectonic point of view, due to that 5 is not a member of the architectonic family. On the contrary, when writing 2/5=1/3+1/15 or 2/5=1/4+1/10+1/20, both decompositions have the architectonic nature because the numbers 3 & 15 or 4, 10 & 20 are members of the architectonic family. However, the first decomposition is preferred due to the economic law of the cosmos, i.e., identifying the highest architectonic utility(ies) in the fraction in an efficient economic way.
