Economics and Development Dr. Hossam Aboulfotouh, 16 August, 2004
Background: Knowing how ancient civilizations understood the meaning of economics and development might be an interesting subject for the nowadays scholars. Who knows, we may learn from the ancient but intelligent endeavors and find out that what economists speak about today as new brilliant solutions have been proposed by others milleniums ago, and the current meaning of sustainable development was always their without change. May be the collective behaviors have changed and not the concept itself, following the law of the cosmic system. As man live on earth, his basic needs of water, food, clothes and shelters never change in the abstract term, living aside any took on the welfare. Providing these needs in unstable environments needs brilliant solutions that we call today policies. One may say that a policy is a new term but solutions is always there; we need to look for them. Brilliant economic ideas are not the inventions of the modern man nor are they the heritage of the ancient civilizations. Problems and solutions are like two opposite ethereal spheres as matters and the anti matters that rotate in opposite directions; man has no hand in creating them. However, when problems do appear man has the responsibility to find out what cancel them entirely. The paths of life on earth or elsewhere are full of problems and their solutions are very close by but stand in the dark side of reality. Observing them is an intelligent act, discovering only the existence of the effective cure for the problems according to their active places in a specific point in time. Putting a solution in the format of the scientific language of the day does not mean creating a solution. However, finding the solutions that entirely solve the economic problems of the day is a brilliant discovery. On the contrary, in the strategic thinking approach, researchers attempt to predict the future problems and accordingly propose the defense actions for them, aiming to secure the path of development in an environment no body knows what it will look like. It still the law of the dead hand; however, continuos maneuvers of that thought may lead someone to observe the ultimate hidden solutions that we may name it the harmonic policies for the noisy problems. In this web page we will discuss the above sentences from a more wider perspective based on understanding the economic law of our solar system that upon which our mental behavior is economically stabilized. | Home | Top | |
